Source OECD records:

I have a question re: tag 533 that I don’t see in the procedures document. If the tag is present in an imported record for OECD materials, do we delete it? Example:

$aElectronic reproduction.$b[Paris] :$cSourceOECD.$nMode of access: World Wide Web; requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.

This will only occur when we have imported a record for the electronic version rather than a record for the print, so we shouldn’t run across it very often as we are usually importing records for the print and editing them.

Great question, Lynn. I’ve seen a few of these, and I think the copy cataloguers have as well.

My inclination has been to take them out. I haven’t yet seen anything in the resource itself that indicates it’s a reproduction and not just a different medium. It’s the same question that we raised at Cat Standards a while back…which came first–the print or the electronic?

In reality, I suspect it doesn’t matter much to the users–they just want the link–so I’m not too concerned about deleting them.
